Academic Community Day – November 13

As we briefly mentioned last week, this year’s Annual Research Conference is held over three days, beginning on November 13.

We decided to launch the Conference by dedicating a day to promoting an exchange between public officials and the directors of some of the most influential research programmes in the Economics of Institutions and Governance.

By bringing policymakers and scholars to talk about policy priorities and how research may contribute with knowledge to achieve policy goals, the Conference intends to not only inform policy but also encourage research towards a new knowledge frontier on issues that matter for the EU and the international policymaking community.

Attendance on this day is by invitation only yet we believe it is important to list the research directors we expect to welcome in Brussels:

  • Torbjörn Becker, Stockholm Institute of Transition Economics
  • Jean-Philippe Bonardi, E4S, HEC-University of Lausanne
  • Eric Brousseau, Governance & Regulation Chair, Paris Dauphine PSL
  • Nicolas Charron, Quality of Government Institute, University of Gothenburg
  • Sean Ennis, Centre for Competition Policy, University of East Anglia
  • Guido Friebel, Management and Applied Microeconomics Department, Frankfurt
  • Erik Jones, Robert Schuman Centre for Advances Studies, EUI
  • Patrick Legros, European Centre for Advanced Research in Economics and Statistics, ULB
  • Valentina Meliciani, Libera Università Internazionale degli Studi Sociali (LUISS) Guido Carli
  • Jens Prüfer, Tilburg Law and Economics Center
  • Stefan Voigt, Institute of Law & Economics, University of Hamburg
  • Paul Seabright, Institute for Advanced Study, Toulouse
