Cluster 6 aims to accelerate the transition towards the sustainable management of natural resources. It includes measures for: climate neutrality of primary production, circular management of resources, sustainable and healthy food systems, halt of biodiversity decline, and prevention and removal of pollution.

The Rural BioReFarmeries project, funded by Horizon Europe, aims to boost Ireland’s rural economy and bioeconomy by extracting more value from grassland. It transforms grass into bio-based products like protein, flavourings, antimicrobial additives, packaging, and fertilises, while still supplying livestock feed. Residues from production can be used to generate renewable energy, delivering both economic and environmental benefits.
