The Festival commences on 9 June with Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, Parliament President Roberta Metsola and 2022 Pritzker Prize winner Diébédo Francis Kéré and will run for four days physically in Brussels at the Gare Maritime and the Mont des Arts, but also in several locations across Europe and online.
The programme includes a mix of cultural and artistic events such as performances, exhibits, installations, movies, and live painting, as well as talks, debates, and workshops.
What’s on? 3 main pillars
The Forum will feature an amazing line-up of over 60 speakers from all around the world. This includes notable architects like Shigeru Ban, Rem Koolhaas and Stefano Boeri, notable figures such as Francesca Bria, Gerfried Stocker and Emeka Ogboh and climate activists like Dominika Lasota and Hilda Nakabuye, as well as many others from the world of sustainability, culture and social sciences and high-level EU officials. Among the highlights of the Forum, we have the 11 June ceremony that will crown the winners of this year’s New European Bauhaus Prizes.
The Fair will feature over 100 innovative projects, which will be displayed at fixed locations, as well as on e-bikes and electrical tuk-tuks scattered across Brussels’ city centre and online on the event platform.
The Fest will feature dances, installations, theatre, and music performances – such as Patsyki Z Franeka, popular Ukrainian band and Дeva, Budapest-based musician and 2022 winner of the Music Moves Europe Awards – as well as scientific experiments, upcycling workshops, and much more!
