Brigid is the National Contact Point for Horizon Europe’s Legal and Financial rules, a Senior Executive in the Research Internationalisation department and programme manager for Enterprise Ireland’s suite of Horizon Europe support grants including the ERC, Coordinator and Travel supports. She previously held a senior role in Enterprise Ireland's Corporate Marketing and Communications department with responsibility for communications strategy, social media, public relations, and stakeholder and media engagement. Earlier in her career, she worked as a broadcast journalist in national radio and television.

Europe scales up 6G research investments and selects 35 new projects worth €250 million

The Smart Networks and Services Joint Undertaking (SNS JU) selected its first portfolio of 35 research, innovation, and trial projects to enable the evolution of 5G ecosystems and promote 6G research in Europe. With a combined funding for this new portfolio of around €250 million under Horizon Europe, the aim is to build a first-class European supply chain for advanced 5G systems and build Europe’s 6G technology capacities.

EU funding enables vital ‘human-centric’ AI work

As AI’s development continues to grow, the EU has declared the need for a ‘human-centric’ approach to AI. TU Dublin has teamed up with 13 partners from across Europe to create Collaborative Intelligence for Safety Critical systems, a MSCA Innovative Training Network project. Funded by Horizon 2020, the project aims to hire, train and mentor early-stage researchers as collaborative intelligence scientists.
