In addition to his role as National Delegate and National Contact Point in Horizon Europe Cluster 3 – Civil Security for Society, Michael coordinates the all-island Irish Security Research Network (serenity) that has around 1,260 participants. He monitors European defence programmes and advises the Department of Defence. He has wide experience in diverse technical domains including in a management role. His PhD related to magnetron sputtering technology.
