European Innovation Council

Irish space technology company Mbryonics is scaling production of its groundbreaking StarCom optical communications system with support from the European Innovation Council (EIC) Accelerator. The Horizon Europe-funded project received a €2.5 million grant and a €15 million equity investment recommendation to commercialise technology that enables ultra-high-speed, secure data transfer between satellites. Dubbed the “Internet in Space”, StarCom will support next-generation satellite networks while strengthening Europe’s position in deep-tech innovation. The investment is also driving advanced manufacturing in the west of Ireland, creating high-value jobs and supporting the growth of Ireland’s space sector
