The European Research Council (ERC) has awarded €838m in Advanced Grants to leading researchers, five of which are Ireland- based at Trinity College Dublin and University College Dublin, across Europe, supporting projects with the potential for major scientific breakthroughs.  ERC Advanced Grant is one of the European Research Council’s most prestigious funding schemes. The Irish-funded projects span infant cognition and AI, social relationships and wellbeing, Asian anti-colonial history, bioactive RNA engineering and liquid metal electrocatalysis.
