The new facility opened by Future Cast, supported by the Border Enterprise Development Fund, will provide companies with access to expertise, equipment and a space to develop their innovative ideas into prototypes and progress research and development projects. The centre provides rural Ireland with an opportunity to acquire knowledge and expertise in areas such as 3D concrete printing and offshore wind energy infrastructure using the hubs features such as a geological material science laboratory, prototype-building and machine-development spaces, facilities for green skills training and a 3D concrete printer.
